I am fairly adept at the machines as I am the "elevation" tech when things just seem to not be working themselves out. Resetting the machine should not be done through there unless you know specifically why you are and the ramifications of doing so. I do not doubt your prowess on a MFC maintenance mode that can do everything from adjust voltage settings to completely bricking the machine, but Maintenance Mode is the last resort for anything and the resort for a copier tech. code since Kyocera themselves recommend you do not give it out. I ran this up the MFC side of our business and the response I got was that we have fired Techs for giving out the Maint. It will still print, copy, scan, etc just not punch or what not. They do not "usually" just disable due to willy-nilly reasons and it only affects the device disabled. The ONLY thing you gain on "mission critical" devices is error coding on attachments that have been disabled. Again, consult experts before using this code or any others. I have seen to use code 163 instead of 906.
